Job description


CBPI is in search of full-time (32+ hrs/wk) behavior technicians to work with children and adolescents in school-based settings throughout King and Pierce Counties. Connections contracts with several school districts to provide 1:1 support to children and adolescents with emotional behavior disorders, autism, intellectual disabilities, and challenging behaviors. 
South schools consist of Federal Way, Tahoma, Renton, Highline, Kent and Auburn School Districts. NO weekend work is required. This is an entry level position where you will receive paid training to become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). During the summer months there are center-based and homes part-time positions as well! 
This is a great position for those interested in autism, psychology, social work, counseling, mental health, and teaching to expand their careers and learn about the field of ABA. Come help us make a difference in a student’s life! 
RBT’s are responsible for delivering instruction and support by following behavior plans created by a BCBA. Behavior plans may include procedures on how to arrange the environment to prevent challenging behaviors, instructions for how to teach the student to communicate needs more appropriately, and procedures for how to respond to unsafe behaviors. All behavior plans are based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. We provide comprehensive initial and ongoing training, and you will be provided with multiple weekly opportunities to collaborate with an experienced BCBA. 
Job Responsibilities: 
  • Work 1:1 with children and adolescents with developmental disabilities and/or emotional behavior disorders
  • Maintain a safe environment for all students and staff members
  • Follow behavior plans and acquisition plans created by a BCBA
  • Take data on all target behaviors
  • Attend team meetings
  • Debrief with teachers daily
  • Write daily session notes
  • Collaborate with BCBA during observations

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Preferred if in psychology, social work, education, or related field
  • Experience working with children and/or people with disabilities
  • Strong desire to work with students with special needs
  • A strong desire to work in a dynamic team and advance their knowledge and skills in Applied Behavior Analysis
