Continuous learning and being open to feedback will help you improve your skills and confidence on the job.

Full time entry level painters are individuals who work in painting jobs on a full-time basis, typically with little to no prior experience in the field. Their main responsibilities include preparing surfaces, applying paint or other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces, and assisting more experienced painters as needed. Entry level painters often learn on the job, gaining skills in surface preparation, paint mixing, and proper application techniques. This role can be a starting point for a career in painting or construction trades. They are usually supervised by experienced painters or foremen and may work on residential, commercial, or industrial projects.

Job description

Your Career. Your Metrics. Your Move.
At Pearl Painters, raises and promotions don't come from hoping someone notices, begging for a raise, or being the favorite - they come from clear, measurable performance.
Are you one of the many hardworking painters stuck in a company where it's not clear how to move up?
We've seen it too often - talented people doing great work with no idea how to grow. That's not how we do things here.
You get a clear Career Path with specific, measurable expectations. Every position - Apprentice, Skilled Painter, Job Site Manager - comes with written KPIs tied directly to pay and title.
Beat budget? You're on track.
Keep clients happy? That counts.
You'll always know exactly where you stand.
Want a raise? Let's look at your numbers and see what's next. No guessing. No begging. No hoping the boss just happens to notice.
This is your career.
You control the pace. We give you the path.
You're hands-on, hardworking, and ready to start something solid. Maybe you've done a little painting before-or maybe you're just ready to learn a trade that actually goes somewhere. Either way, if you've got a great attitude and show up ready to work, Pearl Painters in Portland has a spot for you.
When you join us as a full-time Entry-Level Painter Apprentice, you're joining an apprentice position that respects you, trains you, and helps you build a real career. Most of our pros started out right where you are. If you're dependable and willing to learn, we'll give you the tools, support, and path to move up.
This apprentice role earns a competitive pay of $17.00-$20.00 an hour.
We also offer our amazing team fantastic benefits and perks, such as:
  • 1 week Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Medical insurance
  • Retirement plan with employer match
  • Full-Time Work
  • Structured Career Path
  • Paid trainings

Your painting skills are in demand - submit your application and let us connect you with your next apprentice job!
WHAT WILL YOU DO EVERY DAY AS AN ENTRY-LEVEL PAINTER APPRENTICE?
By joining our apprentice position as an Entry-Level Painting Apprentice, you'll be trained in Pearl's Best Known Methods (BKMs) for essential tasks like prep work, painting, and cleanup while maintaining a professional atmosphere. Each day offers a variety of activities, such as caulking, rolling, brushing, and organizing tools. Work closely with experienced painters dedicated to your growth. Your main goal is to provide excellent service to clients while staying within budget. We'll track your progress, and many Apprentices achieve A2 status within just 3 to 6 months!
WHEN WILL YOU WORK?
This apprentice will work full-time hours Monday through Friday with required travel around the Portland metro area.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE OUR ENTRY-LEVEL PAINTING APPRENTICE?
  • No experience required
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • A smartphone with a data plan (for jobsite communication)
  • Physical ability to lift, climb ladders, and handle tools safely
  • Willingness to learn, show up, and take pride in your work
  • Not afraid of heights
