Job Summary:
Chestnut is the first AI mortgage lender, aiming to automate the mortgage process and save consumers significant amounts in interest. The Software Engineer will contribute to building automated mortgage brokering and may later take on product ownership or engineering leadership roles.
Responsibilities:
• Quickly ramping on mortgage.
• Qualifying more leads by extending our AI voice agent.
• Boosting our close rate with beautiful rate quotes.
• Automating loan processing with browser agents and automated underwriting.
• Helping define Chestnut’s culture by writing, recruiting, and role modeling.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Hunger for high-focus, high-growth work.
• Ability to build robust full-stack solutions.
• Excellent communication skills.
• 5+ years experience in full-time engineering/engineering management roles.
Preferred:
• Production use of LLMs and other modern AI tools.
• History of hacking on side projects.
• Interest in people management/mentoring.
