Job Description Analytics Engineer Contract and Fulltime Opportunity Toronto | Hybrid We are looking for an Analytics Engineer to join a growing data team in Toronto. This is a hands-on role focused on building and maintaining reliable data transformation pipelines, scalable data models, and trusted data assets that support analytics, reporting, and data science. What you'll be doing: Develop and optimize data transformation pipelines using dbt Build and maintain scalable data models Write advanced SQL for analytics and transformation use cases Implement data quality checks, testing, and validation Troubleshoot pipeline failures, performance issues, and data discrepancies Partner with analytics, engineering, product, and business teams Maintain documentation around data models, lineage, schemas, and transformation logic Follow engineering best practices including version control, testing, and code review What we're looking for: 3+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, BI Engineering, or a related data role Strong SQL skills Hands-on experience with data modelling Experience with dbt or a similar transformation framework Strong understanding of data warehousing and modern analytics workflows Experience with Git / version control Strong troubleshooting and data quality skills Excellent attention to detail and communication skills Nice to have: Snowflake or another cloud data warehouse Airflow AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or AI agents This role is best suited to someone who is technically strong, detail-oriented, and comfortable asking questions, challenging assumptions, and working closely with both technical and business stakeholders.
