Job Description:
Job Family Definition:
Designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products. Develops software including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design.
Management Level Definition:
Contributions impact technical components of HPE products, solutions, or services regularly and sustainable. Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Provides expertise and partnership to functional and technical project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for achieving objectives. May provide team leadership and mentoring to others.
Skill set:
  • C++ coding - STL, boost, Templates, basic C++, OOP concepts
  • Python
  • Systems/Distributed/embedded systems
  • Linux operating system - understanding of OS, cpu/memory/system architecture
  • User space coding (no kernel mode), on prem device
  • Multithreaded programming - use of mutexes, locks etc
  • Algorithms/Data structures
  • Experience writing performant code
  • Debugging/profiling tools like - GDB, perf etc
  • Any experience with File systems, Storage, data path work or any experience building systems infrastructure code is a huge plus
  • Any knowledge of Kubernetes is a big plus

Job Description/Experience:
  • Deep understanding of modern C++
  • Proficient with STL, Boost, templates, and object-oriented design.
  • Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
  • Experience with Systems programming with C++11 and beyond - Safe and Performant Coding. For example -
    • Solid grasp of systems-level concepts (memory management, CPU architecture, I/O)
    • Experience with user-space development on Linux
    • Multithreaded Programming
      • Practical experience with concurrency primitives and synchronization techniques
      • Understanding of thread safety, race conditions, and deadlock prevention
      • Ability to design and debug multithreaded applications using modern C++ constructs
    • Practical experience using C++11/14/17 multithreading constructs such as std::thread, std::mutex, std::lock_guard, std::unique_lock, and condition variables
    • Understanding of memory management improvements like std::shared_ptr, std::unique_ptr, and move semantics for safe and efficient resource handling
    • Experience using RAII principles and smart pointers to avoid memory leaks and ensure exception safety
    • Ability to write cache-friendly and low-latency code, with attention to performance bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.
    • Familiarity with profiling tools and performance bottleneck analysis.
    • Exposure to performance tuning and debugging low-level issues. Ability to triage/debug issues with these skills.
    • Familiarity with Distributed Systems design concepts.
  • Familiarity with Algorithms/Data structures and ability to answer interview questions on these-
    • Strong foundation in data structures (lists, stacks, queues, hash maps, trees, graphs, and other non-linear data structures)
    • Ability to analyze and optimize algorithmic complexity
    • Comfortable with problem-solving and whiteboard coding
  • Any experience with File systems, Storage, data path work or any experience building systems infrastructure code is a huge plus
