Designs, develops, operates, and maintains software and firmware components and computing systems software to be applied to and integrated with engineering, scientific, and manufacturing requirements. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of such engineering applications and products such as laboratory simulation systems, airplane flight control and display systems, avionics, mechanical and electrical systems, weapons armament, commercial and military aircraft systems, mobile and ground-based defense systems, space systems, and other systems and applications of this nature. Interfaces with customers, suppliers, application users, and other technical and support personnel.
You will be the Software Engineer Sr. Staff for the Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) team. Our team is responsible for designing, developing, and manufacturing precision engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries.

What You Will Be Doing
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and integrating software solutions for real-time embedded systems, including hardware in the loop (HWIL) environments.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
• Develop Embedded Software in C/C++ (version 11 or higher)
• Integrate algorithms into C/C++ applications
• Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities
• Design, develop, document, test, and debug software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment.
• Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.
• Correct program errors, prepares operating instructions, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - Must have a Final Secret Security Clearance.
Basic Qualifications
• Must have Active DoD SECRET Clearance with investigation in the last 5 years
• BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering or related field
• The candidate must have previous HWIL experience working with real time embedded systems using both HW/SW
• Proficiency in C/C++ (version 11 or higher for C++)
• Proficiency in Linux systems and Real-Time Operating Environment
• Experience Integrating hardware and software
• Experience in real-time software generation, with hands-on experience related to hardware testing and/or embedded systems and/or a simulation systems
Desired Skills
Ability to physically come on site in Dallas and work in labs to support integration
Experience with low level software development /device drivers
Experience working in cross-discipline/cross-functional teams
MS or greater in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering or related field
Full software development life cycle experience
Git, Gitlab, JIRA
VxWorks experience

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $148300.00 - $275500.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
