Qualified Diesel Technician

General Job Description

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Diesel Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, mechanical systems, and a commitment to safety and efficiency. Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm F/T benefits, continuing certification training, and tool program. For more information please feel free to contact 701-787-5655


Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines and related systems (e.g., transmissions, brakes, electrical).

  • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.

  • Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues and ensure optimal performance.

  • Maintain accurate records of services and repairs.

  • Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

  • Communicate effectively with drivers, operators, and supervisors about repair status.

  • Keep tools and work areas clean and organized.

  • Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements.


Qualifications:
  • 4+ years experience required
  • Must be able to over haul a diesel engine
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or ASE certification preferred.

  • Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or similar role.

  • Strong understanding of diesel engine systems and mechanical functions.

  • Ability to use diagnostic software and tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.

  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy parts and tools.


Work Environment:
  • Shop or field-based work with exposure to noise, grease, and diesel fumes.

  • May require working evenings, weekends, or being on-call depending on employer needs.
