Will DevSecOps be replaced by AI?

DevSecOps professionals focus on integrating security into development and operations processes, and AI tools are increasingly used to automate tasks like vulnerability detection and code analysis. While AI can enhance efficiency, it is unlikely to fully replace the need for skilled DevSecOps practitioners who interpret results, make strategic decisions, and ensure security policies are properly implemented.

What jobs in the US pay 300,000 a year?

Full Time DevSecOps roles can reach or exceed a $300,000 annual salary, especially with seniority, specialized skills in cloud security, automation, and experience with tools like Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines. High-level positions often require extensive experience, certifications, and leadership responsibilities. Salaries vary based on location, company size, and individual expertise.

What are Full Time DevSecOps roles?

Full Time DevSecOps roles involve professionals who work to integrate security practices into every stage of the software development lifecycle while also managing development (Dev) and operations (Ops) tasks. These roles focus on automating security processes, monitoring systems for vulnerabilities, and collaborating with development and IT teams to ensure applications are built and deployed securely. Full time positions typically require hands-on experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and security tools, enabling organizations to maintain secure, efficient, and compliant technology environments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Full Time DevSecOps professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Time DevSecOps professional, you need expertise in software development, security best practices, automation, and cloud infrastructure, often supported by a degree in computer science or related certifications like CompTIA Security+ or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer. Familiarity with tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and security scanning solutions is typically required. Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills help professionals bridge gaps between development, operations, and security teams. These skills are crucial for integrating security throughout the software lifecycle, ensuring robust, efficient, and compliant systems.

What are some common challenges faced by Full Time DevSecOps professionals, and how can they be addressed?

Full Time DevSecOps professionals often encounter challenges such as integrating security seamlessly into fast-paced development pipelines, managing tool sprawl, and fostering collaboration between development, operations, and security teams. To address these, it's helpful to automate security checks within CI/CD workflows, standardize tooling, and promote a culture of shared responsibility for security. Regular communication and cross-training among team members also help in breaking down silos and ensuring everyone is aligned toward secure development practices.

What engineer makes $500,000 a year?

A senior or specialized DevSecOps engineer with extensive experience, advanced certifications, and expertise in automation, cloud platforms, and security tools can earn $500,000 or more annually, especially in high-cost-of-living areas or large organizations. Such roles often require leadership responsibilities and proficiency with tools like Kubernetes, AWS, and security frameworks.

What is the difference between Full Time Devsecops vs Full Time Devops?

Job description

A leading SaaS fintech provider in turnkey lending is undertaking a critical evolution of its infrastructureโ€”and they're looking for a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to lead the way. This role sits at the intersection of AWS-scale cloud systems and secure on-prem data centers, offering a rare chance to design and secure a platform that truly spans both worlds.

Ideal candidates will bring not only deep technical expertise but also the strategic mindset of a trusted consultant. Youโ€™ll define security baselines, embed controls in the CI/CD lifecycle, and influence infrastructure strategy across engineering, compliance, and platform teams. From federated identity to audit readiness, your work will be foundational to the companyโ€™s ability to scale securely and meet strict regulatory standards.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years in DevOps, Security Engineering, or DevSecOps roles, with significant experience working across hybrid cloud and on-prem environments

  • Deep hands-on experience architecting and securing AWS infrastructure, including IAM, network security controls, and managed services

  • Expertise with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, including multi-environment deployments and policy enforcement

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Container security across both cloud and on-prem orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker)

  • On-premises security knowledge including Linux/Windows hardening, firewalls, network segmentation, and virtualization platforms

  • Federated IAM experience, especially involving Active Directory integration with cloud-based identity providers

Daily Responsibilities

  • Hands-On Engineering: 70%

  • Team Collaboration & Cross-Functional Work: 30%

Preferred Skills & Certifications

  • Certifications such as CISSP, AWS Certified Security, CISM, or GitHub Actions Certification

  • Experience with hardware security modules (HSMs) and enterprise-level secrets management in a hybrid environment

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in United States on a full-time basis now and in the future.

Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the hiring process as required under Motion Recruitmentโ€™s Employment Accommodation policy. Applicants need to make their needs known in advance.
