Iron Oak Energy is looking for a dynamic Cybersecurity Analyst who will have a positive impact on the Information Technology team at it's The Woodlands, TX. Corporate office location.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor security alerts and logs from SIEM, EDR and other security tools to detect suspicious activity.
  • Investigate and respond to security incidents.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing support, and risk analysis on systems and applications.
  • Analyze threat intelligence and implement proactive defenses against emerging threats.
  • Develop, update, and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and business teams to remediate security findings.
  • Conduct regular security audits and compliance checks.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports and present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of security controls and infrastructure improvements.
  • Develop and deliver cybersecurity awareness training, including phishing campaigns.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for incident response.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 2-5 years of experience in cybersecurity operations, SOC, or incident response.
  • Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or CCNA Security are highly preferred.

Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protection.
  • Experience with security tools: CrowdStrike, Palo Alto, Proofpoint, Microsoft Defender, KnowBe4, CyberArk (Idira), Microsoft Entra.
  • Solid understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux), cloud security (Azure), and zero-trust architecture.
  • Familiarity with threat frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain).
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and risk management standards (NIST CSF 2.0).
