Across its five Schools, Fisher offers nearly 40 majors in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, business, education, and nursing; 11 pre-professional programs; and master's and doctoral programs in business, nursing, education, pharmacy, and public health. The University's residential campus boasts a robust living and learning community and a successful intercollegiate athletics program. Job Responsibilities
The School of Arts and Sciences seeks a tenure-track Open Rank Professor of Computer Science and Cybersecurity to begin Fall 2027. We seek candidates with a Ph.D. in computer science, cyber security, or a closely related field. Preferred specializations include artificial intelligence, user interface, user experience, or human-computer interaction. This position carries a 9-12 hour teaching load per semester and involves teaching undergraduate courses across multiple modalities (in-person, online, and hybrid). Faculty are expected to contribute meaningfully across research, teaching, and service while actively engaging with students and the broader Fisher community.
The candidate will have the following responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate computer science and cybersecurity courses; assess student learning and progress.
  • Play a role in Fisher's efforts to integrate AI across campus.
  • Actively incorporate generative, agentic, and emerging AI technologies into teaching and learning experiences to prepare students for careers in the field.
  • Maintain an active program of scholarship.
  • Advise and mentor students and support recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Utilize an array of teaching techniques.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of courses, programs, and School initiatives.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, alumni, and the professional community to advance the School's mission.
  • Provide service to the Department, School, University, profession, and broader community, and share expertise through scholarly and professional outlets.

Education / Experience
Required Qualifications
  • Proof of permanent right to work in the US on first day of employment.
  • A terminal degree in computer science, cybersecurity or related field from an accredited institution. ABD candidates will be considered if the degree will be completed by August 2027.
  • Demonstrated potential to publish in peer-reviewed journals.

Preferred Experiences
  • Professional experience in related fields of computer science or cybersecurity.
  • Ability to lead collaborative efforts to improve curriculum and programming.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate courses.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with teaching or professional experience in artificial intelligence, user interface, user experience, or human-computer interaction.
