Position Summary

What you'll do

• Designsand developsAI-powered applications and features using Python, leveraging LLMs, RAG(Retrieval Augmented Generation), and agentic AI frameworks.

• Buildsand deploys production-ready AI agentsand assistants that automate workflowsand enhance user experiences acrossenterpriseapplications.

• ImplementsRAG pipelines includingdocument ingestion, chunking strategies, vectorembeddings, and semantic search toenableintelligent informationretrieval.

• Developsand integrates AI featuresinto existing applications usingRESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud-nativepatterns.

• Appliespromptengineering bestpractices tooptimizeLLM outputsfor accuracy, consistency, and reliabilityinproduction environments.

• Collaborates with software engineers, productmanagers, and UX designers to translatebusinessrequirements into AI-powered solutions.

• Evaluates and selects appropriate AI models, frameworks, and toolsbased on usecase requirements, cost, and performance considerations.

• Writesclean, maintainable, and well-tested code followingsoftwareengineering best practices includingcodereviews, CI/CD, and version control.

• MonitorsAI applicationperformance, implementsloggingand observability, and continuouslyimproves modelaccuracy and responsequality.

• Stays current onemerging AI technologies, frameworks(LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI), and industrybest practices in AIapplication development.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ yearsof softwaredevelopmentexperience withPython

• ExperiencebuildingapplicationsusingLLMs(OpenAI, Anthropic, AzureOpenAI, oropen-source models)

• Hands-on experience withRAG(Retrieval Augmented Generation) implementations

• Familiarity with vectordatabases .

• Experience with atleast one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, orGCP)

• ProficiencyinGitversioncontrol and collaborativedevelopment workflows

Preferred Qualifications

• ExperiencewithAgentic AIframeworks (LangChainAgents, AutoGen, CrewAI, or similar)

• Familiarity with AI-assisted developmenttoolsand practices(GitHubCopilot, Cursor, orsimilar)

• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)

• Knowledgeof CI/CD pipelines(GitHubActions, Jenkins, orsimilar)

• Experiencewith FastAPI, Flask, or similar Pythonweb frameworks

• Familiarity with frontend technologies (React, JavaScript) forfull-stack AIapplications

• Experience with promptengineering, fine-tuning, and model evaluation techniques

• Understandingof AIsafety, responsibleAI practices, and ethical considerations

• Experience withdocument processing libraries(LangChaindocument loaders, Unstructured, etc.)

• Familiarity with observability tools forAI applications(LangSmith, Weights& Biases, or similar)

• Strongproblem-solving skillsand ability to debugcomplex AIsystembehaviors

• Understandingof RESTful API design and integration

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, InformationTechnology, or arelated field isrequired.

• Equivalentpracticalexperience willbe considered.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $185,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
