Job Description
The instructional faculty member shall have the primary responsibilities of teaching online and in-person, research/creative achievement, and service functions and shall be held accountable for these obligations as they contribute to the attainment of the mission of the University, the School, and the Department. This position is responsible mainly for creative writing, poetry, creative fiction, creative non-fiction and other literary and writing components of a liberal arts education. The faculty is also responsible for community outreach and recruiting, including the Literary Mountain Heritage Festival, the Literary Reading Series, and creative writing workshops. Service to the university may also include grant writing, scholarship, workshop presentations as outlined below, and for developing and participating in other student recruitment activities. In addition, the Creative Writing Professor is responsible for sponsoring the student-led Wolfpen Literary Journal and the Wolfpen Editing Course every year
Required Qualifications
MFA in creative writing or closely related field. Experience working in online and in-person environments, *educational preparation in accordance with requirements of the University and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, *evidence of potential for effective teaching and scholarly activity, *demonstrated knowledge of student advising and recruitment.
