Position: Audio Manager - Full Time/Exempt
Reports to: Sr. Director of Production and Chief Broadcast Engineer
Summary:
The Audio Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for all audio services supporting Insignia Event Services. This position is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, staffing, execution, maintenance, and continuous improvement of audio operations across a diverse portfolio of high-profile events, including Arizona Cardinals home games, the Fiesta Bowl, major sporting events, concerts, corporate programs, live productions, and premium guest experiences.
The Audio Manager leads the Audio Engineering team, both full time and part-time staff, and serves as a key technical and operational resource for Insignia Events, stadium partners, production teams, vendors, and event stakeholders. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with strong leadership, project management, budgeting, and client-service responsibilities.
The ideal candidate is an experienced live-event audio professional with a proven ability to lead teams and manage complex, large-scale audio systems. This individual must be highly organized, solutions-oriented, and capable of making sound technical and operational decisions under pressure while maintaining a commitment to safety, reliability, fiscal responsibility, exceptional client experiences, and managing a team of professionals both full time and freelancers
Primary Job Duties:
  • Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop a team of Audio Engineers and other audio production personnel, establishing clear expectations and maintaining high standards of performance.

  • Oversee the operation, planning, design, coordination, and execution of audio systems and services for Insignia Events productions, State Farm Stadium, and Cardinals properties.

  • Provide technical direction and operational oversight for stadium audio systems during Arizona Cardinals games, and other major sporting and live events at State Farm Stadium or Cardinals properties.

  • Manage audio operations across multiple concurrent events, prioritizing resources, personnel, equipment, and timelines according to event requirements.

  • Review event scopes and collaborate with event coordinators, production managers, clients, and other departments to determine appropriate audio solutions.

  • Participate in pre-production, production, and post-event meetings to establish technical requirements and standard operating procedures, identify potential challenges, and evaluate event performance.

  • Serve as a primary audio subject-matter expert for complex technical issues, system failures, troubleshooting, and time-sensitive production decisions.

  • Establish and maintain standards operational procedures, documentation, and best practices for audio systems and personnel.

  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs for Insignia Events audio systems and equipment, to ensure reliability and readiness.

  • Manage audio inventory, including equipment allocation, tracking, maintenance, repairs, replacement, and long-term lifecycle planning.

  • Evaluate equipment needs and make recommendations regarding purchases, upgrades, replacements, and new technologies.

  • Ensure proper design and implementation of complex audio signal paths, including digital audio networking, fiber optic systems, routing, and distribution.

  • Oversee the operation and integration of professional audio consoles, DSP, intercom, RF, networking, routing, and loudspeaker systems.

  • Assist with the development of event budgets, estimates, equipment costs, labor requirements, and final billing information.

  • Establish appropriate staffing and technical support levels based on event scope, complexity, and client expectations.

  • Ensure audio personnel follow established safety procedures, operational protocols, and professional standards.

  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders throughout all phases of event production to ensure expectations are clearly understood and met.

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service quality, technical capabilities, and the overall client experience.

  • Support the development and implementation of training programs for Audio Engineers and production staff.

  • Perform hands-on audio engineering and technical duties when required by event demands.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • A minimum of 7+ years of Audio related work experience

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a large-volume, large-venue facilities

  • Excellent leadership, people management, problem solving and communication skills

  • Must be creative, innovative, passionate, results-oriented with a commitment to excellence.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office365 Software

  • Certified and/or proficient in the following:

  • Rational Acoustics Smaart Live

  • L'Acoustics Soundvision

  • L'Acoustics Network Manager

  • QSC Q-sys Designer

  • QSys certified lever 2 or higher preferred

  • Digico consoles (SD Series)

  • Yamaha consoles

  • Audinate Dante

  • Optocore Routing

  • Riedel Intercom (Director and Bolero)

  • AutoCad preferred

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to multi-task and troubleshoot in a high stress, fast-paced, live production work environment

  • Bachelor's degree, technical degree, and/or equivalent experience

  • Flexibility with work varying schedules including evenings, holidays, and weekends
