Job description

DESCRIPTION:

The CMM Inspector is responsible for the setup and operation of the computer coordinate measuring machine as well as performs first piece inspection, WIP inspection, and final inspection on required parts.

SUPERVISORY:

No supervisory experience required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Following company procedures, reports daily activity on the employee’s daily time record form.

2. Perform first piece inspection and variation on the required parts.

3. Performs final inspection on the required parts.

4. Responsible for ensuring that acceptable parts are released to the customer and responsible for releasing first piece inspected parts for production.

5. Works to obtain tolerances as close as are normally required.

6. Will be required to be very proficient in the reading of blueprints, and work within tolerances.

7. Will operate, setup, identify and correct problems with the coordinate measuring machine

8. Will assist in the training of others

9. Work closely with team members to provide a safe work environment. Identify and eliminate safety and housekeeping hazards to minimize workplace accidents.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & SKILLS:

Has a minimum one-year experience as inspector and/or one year experience as a CMM operator. Must be very proficient in reading and interpretation of blueprints.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Position requires some light physical effort lifting on occasion up to 60 lbs. May be required to operate in positions that require bending, stooping or standing for long periods of time exceeding 8 hours. Health and safety hazards are minimal.
