Job description

Serrins Valley Vision Optometry in Fresno, California, is seeking a dedicated Associate Optometrist who is passionate about long-term growth and committed to the continued success of the practice. If you share a passion for providing exceptional care to generations of patients and want to be part of a practice known for excellence and family-centered care, this might be the opportunity for you!
Why join us?
Dr. Douglas Charters has proudly served the Fresno community since 1986, when Dr. Douglas O. Charters opened the practice. For 39 years, the practice has thrived on word-of-mouth referrals, with many patients remaining loyal since the 1970s, when Dr. Charters began practicing at Gemco. In January 2023, Dr. Jonathan Serrins took ownership, carrying forward the same tradition of quality eye care and personal connection. Today, the practice provides comprehensive eye exams for patients of all ages, diagnoses, and manages ocular diseases, prescribes corrective lenses, and offers vision therapy when needed. With multiple generations of families continuing their care at the practice, it maintains a true family feel. At its core, Serrins Valley Vision Optometry is dedicated to providing the best experience for both patients and employees.
You'll enjoy a range of benefits, including:
  • Competitive base salary with performance-based bonuses
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Continuing education support
  • Malpractice insurance coverage, mentorship and growth opportunities within the practice

What you'll do:
As an Associate Optometrist at Serrins Valley Vision Optometry, you will utilize modern diagnostic tools, including Revolution EHR, Optos, NCT, New OCT, and Fields Equipment to deliver high-quality patient care. You will perform comprehensive eye exams for patients of all ages, diagnose and manage ocular diseases and disorders, prescribe corrective lenses, and provide vision therapy when needed. A key part of your role will be educating patients on eye health, treatment options, and preventative care while collaborating with a team of professionals to ensure a seamless patient experience. You will maintain accurate and detailed patient records. The position offers 32 to 39 hours per week, with flexible scheduling options (full-time or part-time) and available hours Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with an hour lunch break and select Saturdays. Patient load and scheduling will be discussed during the interview as part of income negotiations.
Who you are:
You possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with a commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. You are skilled at confidently handling a diverse range of patients with varying visual needs and age groups. Your enthusiasm for staying updated on the latest advancements in optometry and developing personalized treatment plans supports the practice's growth and reputation as a community leader. You thrive in collaboration with a talented team, ensuring seamless patient care and contributing to a positive work culture. Your dedication to continuous learning, exceptional communication abilities, and genuine passion for making a positive impact in the lives of others are vital qualities that will enhance the ongoing success and expansion of the business.
Why you'll love Fresno:
Fresno entices individuals seeking a vibrant and diverse community in the heart of California's Central Valley. With numerous parks, hiking trails, and outdoor recreational opportunities nearby, residents can enjoy a variety of activities year-round. Living in Fresno also offers proximity to Yosemite National Park and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, making it an attractive choice for those looking to enjoy a fulfilling lifestyle in a diverse and thriving city.
Minimum Qualifications:
