Full Time Computer Programmer information

What is a full time computer programmer?

Full time computer programmers are professionals who write, test, and maintain the code that enables computer software and applications to function. They typically work for companies or organizations as salaried employees, dedicating all of their working hours to programming tasks. Their responsibilities often include collaborating with other developers, troubleshooting bugs, and updating existing software to improve performance or security. Full time computer programmers may specialize in specific programming languages or technologies depending on their employer's needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a full time computer programmer?

To thrive as a Full Time Computer Programmer, you need strong proficiency in programming languages (such as Python, Java, or C++), problem-solving abilities, and typically a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with integrated development environments (IDEs), version control systems like Git, and potentially certifications in specific technologies are often required. Attention to detail, teamwork, and effective communication are essential soft skills for collaborating on projects and debugging complex issues. These skills and qualities are crucial for building reliable software, meeting project deadlines, and contributing positively to development teams.

What are some common challenges full time computer programmers face when working on large team projects?

Full Time Computer Programmers often encounter challenges such as coordinating effectively with team members, managing code integration from multiple contributors, and maintaining clear documentation. Keeping up with frequent updates and ensuring code consistency across the project can be demanding, especially when following strict version control protocols. To overcome these challenges, programmers typically rely on collaborative tools, regular team meetings, and clear coding standards to streamline communication and development processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Create CAD models in SolidWorks daily, including templates, physical parts, or original designs.

  • Build complex 3D sheet metal and tubular assemblies ready for manufacturing.

  • Partner with the prototype engineering team to move new products into automation and production.

Job description

Ever stared at a Raptor, Bronco, or Ram TRX and thought, "I could make that look even better"? So do we - every single day.

HPAG builds premium, made-in-America bumpers and accessories that flow with a vehicle's bodylines, deliver aggressive styling, and keep every OEM function intact. From the Bronco Bomber to the Raptor Stealth Fighter, our products live on some of the toughest trucks on the trail - and it all starts in CAD. We're looking for a CAD Designer Lead to turn bold ideas into manufacturable reality at our Chandler, Arizona facility.

Why You'll Love This Role
  • You'll own the R&D design process end-to-end - creating, refining, and improving products built for the off-road community.
  • Your designs won't sit on a shelf. They get laser-cut, bent, welded, and bolted onto real trucks.
  • You'll work hands-on with a prototype engineering team that takes parts from screen to physical reality.
  • Made in the USA, built for the elite - you'll be part of a team obsessed with the details that matter.
What You'll Do
  • Create CAD models in SolidWorks daily - from templates, physical parts, or your own designs.
  • Build complex 3D sheet metal and tubular assemblies ready for manufacturing.
  • Process 3D scans and create scanned mesh models of vehicle data to drive new product development.
  • Partner with the prototype engineering team to move new products into automation and production.
  • Take open instructions on part and assembly revisions and run with them.
What You Bring - Position Requirements
  • Strong SolidWorks skills - you can manage complex assemblies and create sheet metal and tubular parts with confidence.
  • 3 years - Experience designing similar automotive or aerospace products
  • Experience with tooling and fixtures, and the know-how to bring a 3D model into physical reality.
  • Working knowledge of machine work and processes for final parts.
  • Experience collaborating with an engineering team and producing accurate, measured drawings.
  • A creative mindset paired with the discipline to translate ideas into clean, manufacturable assemblies.
  • Self-motivated and assertive, comfortable in a fast-paced shop where priorities shift quickly.
  • A team-first attitude - you put the success of the team above your own interests.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Pay & Benefits
  • Starting at $80,000.00 is negotiable depending on experience.
  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Paid time off.
  • Employee discount on the gear you'll help create.
  • Employee referral program.
Schedule & Location
  • Full-time, 8-hour day shift, Monday through Friday.
  • On-site at our Chandler, AZ facility.
