Position Summary
CareRx is interested in hiring Student Pharmacists to join us at any of our Alberta pharmacies including Edmonton, Calgary, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge and Edmonton Compounding & Retail or our with our Clinical Consulting Pharmacist team. CareRx pharmacies provide non-client facing services, however, employees have the option to grow into Clinical Pharmacist roles to service our long-term care clients directly. Working under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, the Student Pharmacist is to participate in the day-to-day dispensary operations of the pharmacy and ensure safe and effective patient care standards are met with all dispensed medications whilst maintaining adherence to operational processes to support the fulfillment of the teams goals — accuracy, efficiency, quality, organization — while maintaining regulatory compliance. We are responsible for the execution and distribution of medications for a mix of residential care, assisted living, and independent living facilities. The Student Pharmacist embodies and reinforces CareRx’s Mission-Vision-Values commitments to support a positive team culture.
Your Day to Day
- Activities include data entry, updating files, pharmacy management software data quality, or support for data entry process changes requiring updates to resident profiles.
- Complete new prescription, changes to medication entry, and continuation of therapy prescription entry.
- Prepare medication and associated paperwork for delivery to patients and/or program partners.
- Support with other activities as designated.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Current student pharmacist standing in the Province of Alberta
- Must be enrolled as a student with the Alberta College of Pharmacists
- Experience with Kroll pharmacy software is an asset.
