Clinical Nurse Leader (RN)

Overview

The Clinical Nurse Leader serves as a clinical expert and key leader within the unit, driving excellence in patient care, staff development, and evidence-based practice. This role partners closely with nursing leadership to anticipate patient care needs, improve outcomes, and enhance the overall patient experience.

The CNL combines clinical expertise with data-driven decision-making to support quality improvement, optimize care delivery, and foster a collaborative, high-performing care environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a clinical expert and resource for nursing staff on the unit
  • Provide leadership in patient care delivery, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based practice
  • Analyze patient acuity, care trends, and quality benchmarks to anticipate staffing and care needs
  • Partner with nursing leadership to support operational and clinical decision-making
  • Lead initiatives to improve patient outcomes, safety, and satisfaction
  • Identify and address staff education and competency needs
  • Promote and support nursing research, innovation, and professional development
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance care coordination and outcomes
  • Foster a culture of accountability, patient advocacy, and continuous improvement

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required
    • Candidates actively enrolled in an MSN program will be considered
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in relevant clinical specialty
  • Demonstrated ability to practice autonomously and manage patient care outcomes
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to influence practice and drive adoption of evidence-based care

Certification Requirements

  • National nursing certification required within 6 months of hire
