Job description

Job Summary:

The role of this position is to create programs for the CNC Plasma and Flame-cutting machines utilizing part nesting software. The CNC Programmer position will grow and change as the department does.

Essential Functions:

  • Support all TTI/FSS Company Safety Policies to ensure they are followed, and personnel and property are kept safe
  • Read technical drawings and guide in the set-up of machines in accordance with these blueprints
  • Use computer software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly
  • Program and oversee quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications
  • Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality
  • Consider tools required to cut materials and program machines accordingly
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with the machines as they arise

Additional Duties:

  • Additional responsibilities or duties may be required as needed in support of company operations.

Teamwork:

Teamwork is essential in this position and the Programmer must have a positive attitude and be able to work effectively with all departments, managers, and staff

Actively promote company safety culture with the team

Qualifications:

  • An individual must be able to perform each essential duty above average and always represent the company in a professional manner.  The requirements listed are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Minimum 3 years’ previous experience working in a steel manufacturing setting is required
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is required
  • Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving problems that arise
  • Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential
  • Should have a positive and professional attitude
  • Capable of working in a shop environment for periods of time
  • Adhere to all safety requirements and protocols

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma
     

Language Skills

Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with co-workers, other departments, and managers.

Reporting

Reports to Pre-fab Manager and works with the operations team as well as Burn Table Foreman.
