Overview

The Research Informatics Applications Analyst supports the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of Children's Mercy and Research Informatics. The Analyst serves as the technical Research Informatics subject matter expert for the Research applications. The Analyst manages projects and programs in assigned research areas and assists with more complex projects. The Analyst performs system configurations and provides technical support for assigned research or other priority applications. They collaborate to positively impact patient safety and care quality.

If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Responsibilities
  • Implements processes and/or procedures for enhancements, additions, and modifications to improve existing systems.
  • Responds to system issues and user requests for assistance.
  • Participates in Incident Management processes to resolve issues/services as soon as possible.
  • Collaborates to provide training and communication about changes and fulfill optimization requests.
  • Configure and optimize applications and technology to meet the specific requirements of clinical research or research workflows.
  • Collaborates with Information Technology to ensure that clinical research and operational systems meet security and privacy requirements.
  • Maintains application documentation, back-up procedures, and business continuance.
  • Test systems and technology to identify defects and develop mitigation plans.
  • Collaborates with vendors to resolve issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in analyzing, learning and testing new features and system upgrades.
  • Provides expertise to implement new clinical research/research applications and technologies.
Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree Preferred. Computer Science, Information Systems, Project Management, Business Administration, or related degrees and 3-5 years experience Research, clinical, health informatics, Information Systems, or Information Technology experience or- Associate's Degree Computer Science, Information Systems, Project Management, Business Administration, or related degrees and 5-7 years experience Research, clinical, health informatics, Information Systems, or Information Technology experience or- HS diploma or equivalent and 7 or more years experience Research, clinical, health informatics, Information Systems, or Information Technology experience- At least one application-specific Epic certification relevant to the department (determined by role leadership) Required within 120 days of hire. Must complete Epic certification training if not already Epic certified in the most recent version of the Epic EHR product. Tracked by department leadership. Required 

  • Research Billing Certification preferred
  • Research: Clinical Certification preferred
  • Data Courier Badge preferred

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $35.91/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This is an intermittent remote position, which means that the person hired will work with his or her manager to determine a schedule that includes both at home and on-site hours at a Children's Mercy location. The incumbent must live in the Kansas City metro area.
