Job description

Clean Harbors in Breslau, ON location is currently looking for a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team.
The ideal candidate is responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy diesel equipment at our facility/shop. Wage range for this permanent full-time position: $38-42/hour. This position rotation is Tuesday to Friday afternoon shift; 1 pm- 11:30pm, with the occasional opportunity to work weekends/overtime.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Perform all required maintenance and repairs to various types of equipment, such as but not limited to tanker tailers and heavy-duty trucks;
  • Perform maintenance which follows the manufacturer guidelines;
  • Complete all paperwork/maintenance documentation;
  • Ensure the shop area is kept clean, tidy and free of hazards at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Journeyperson Mechanic certification (310T license)
  • 3 + years' experience in maintaining of one or more of the following units: pickup trucks, tractors, and trailers;
  • Familiarity with the various types of diesel engines;
  • Ability to oversee, coach and mentor all apprentices and other shop laborers;
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Semi Annual Safety Inspection (CVI License).
