Job Description
Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, this position will support portfolio construction, new business pricing analysis, portfolio monitoring and investment governance across portfolios managed by LGA.
The Investment Analyst will work across front-book PRT activity, back-book portfolio oversight, securitized credit, private markets and infrastructure, helping turn data and market information into clear investment recommendations.
Role and Responsibilities
New Business Strategy / PRT Portfolio Construction
  • Build and analyse model portfolios for new PRT transactions, including scenarios across asset allocation, ratings, sourcing capacity and risk limits. Consider compliance limits.
  • Assess proposed portfolios for diversification, concentration, credit quality, liquidity profile, duration / cashflow characteristics, capital usage and guideline compliance.
  • Monitor and create monthly summaries of asset sourcing targets vs actual sourced DI and amount remaining for investment committees.

New Asset Origination / Initiatives for Asset Backed Liability Portfolio
  • Support research into new asset classes, securitized products, infrastructure, renewables and other opportunities relevant to Institutional Retirement portfolios suitable for backing liabilities.
  • Build and maintain portfolio models, dashboards and trackers that improve decision-making, governance, reporting and process efficiency for the new asset strategies and managers.

Portfolio Management & Investment Oversight
  • Monitor portfolio exposures, ALM, asset allocation, compliance limits, risk appetite and investment guidelines, with timely escalation of emerging issues.
  • Produce portfolio analytics, reporting and management information for senior stakeholders, including key drivers, risks and recommended actions.
  • Support watchlist, ratings, downside and scenario analysis across public and private asset classes.
  • Analyse market developments and portfolio actions that may improve risk-adjusted return.
  • Maintain the investment deal pipeline, tracking opportunities, ownership, status, timelines, approvals and next steps.
  • Support initial screening of investment opportunities and prepare concise summaries covering thesis, portfolio fit, key risks, relative value and recommendation.
  • Support coordination of inputs from Asset Management, Risk, Finance, Operations, Legal and other stakeholders to support efficient deal review and governance.
  • Support investment memos, credit notes and committee materials for internal review and approval.

Qualifications
Education
  • BA / BS in finance, economics, mathematics, engineering, physics, statistics, actuarial science or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Progress towards CFA, FRM, CAIA or similar qualification preferred.

Experience / Knowledge
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in investment management, fixed income, insurance, pensions, consulting, banking, asset management or a related analytical role.
  • Understanding of fixed income, credit markets, portfolio management concepts and investment risk metrics.
  • Experience analysing portfolios, credit investments, securitized products, private markets or insurance-related assets preferred.
  • Familiarity with PRT, insurance balance sheets, liability-aware investment strategy, capital frameworks or US Risk Based Capital beneficial but not required.

Additional Information
The starting salary offer will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to the applicant's education, job-related experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location, and market factors. This position is also eligible to participate in the company's annual discretionary bonus plan.
