Company: VMRD, Inc., Pullman, WAJob Title: Manufacturing Lab TechnicianType: FT, Non-ExemptDepartment: Manufacturing Job Summary:The Manufacturing Technician supports the manufacture of VMRD diagnostic products by performing laboratory production processes, preparing reagents, maintaining quality standards, documenting work accurately, and operating laboratory equipment in accordance with established procedures. Duties and Responsibilities:Follow all company policies, protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).Prepare laboratory reagents and buffers.Package and label finished products.Manufacture ELISA kits, including plate coating and optimization.Perform compounding activities, including buffer preparation, sterile filtration, dilutions, pooling, and aliquoting.Perform cell, viral, bacterial, and other microorganism culture techniques.Perform protein purification using methods such as salt precipitation, ion exchange chromatography, size exclusion chromatography, and affinity chromatography.Evaluate proteins using BCA assays, spectrophotometric analysis, and other analytical techniques.Perform protein conjugation using methods such as FITC and HRP labeling.Conduct and interpret laboratory assays, including IFA, AGID, ELISA, and RID.Perform in-process quality control testing and monitoring.Maintain accurate, complete, and current production and laboratory records.Calibrate, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment.Assist with the development, revision, and maintenance of SOPs.Perform other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Treats others with mutual respect and regard; desires to work cooperatively in a team environmentApplies critical thinking and problem-solving skills to laboratory and manufacturing processes.Produces accurate, high-quality work with strong attention to detail.Demonstrates reliability, accountability, and consistent attendance.Effectively manages time and prioritizes multiple tasks. Desired Qualifications and Experiences:Previous laboratory or manufacturing experience, preferably in biotechnology, diagnostics, microbiology, or a related field, is preferred.Experience following GMP, GLP, ISO, or other regulated quality systems is preferred.Education, Licenses and Certifications:High School Diploma or GED requiredBachelor's or associate degree in biology, microbiology, biotechnology, or a related scientific field preferred. Physical Requirements for the Job: Must be able to-Lift 50lbsRemain in a stationary position 50% of the timeFrequently move throughout the laboratory and manufacturing areas.Use hands for fine manipulation of laboratory instruments and equipment. Pay Range: Between $20 - $22 per hour to start Full-Time BenefitsPaid Vacation: Starting at 12 days accrued/year based on length of servicePaid Holidays: 8 regular holidaysPaid Sick LeaveHealth insurance: Medical, Dental, Rx & VisionHealthiestYou Teladoc with access to free medical and mental health servicesHealth Savings Account with employer contributions401k: A 100% match of employee contribution up to 6% of salaryPaid Life Insurance Policy, AD&D and LTD About Us:VMRD (Veterinary Medical Research and Development) researches, develops and manufactures veterinary diagnostic test kits and related reagents for distribution in nearly eighty countries.
