Job description

Position Summary:

The Natural Sciences Department at Concordia University Irvine seeks applicants for adjunct faculty positions in the area of general Biology & Biochemistry. The department strives to develop wise, honorable & cultivated citizens capable of excelling both as effective educators in their field and as witnesses of Christ through their various roles within the academic field and elsewhere. In line with this mission, we are seeking faculty candidates who are knowledgeable and articulate in Biology and Biochemistry, and who are eager to explore the connections between their Christian faith and their academic pursuits alongside colleagues and students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching introductory and/or upper-division courses in general Biology and Biochemistry such as General Biology I, Biochemistry I and Biochemistry II (See CUI Catalog for details)
  • Conducting office hours, and working with full-time faculty colleagues
  • Potential participation as an undergraduate student research advisor

Qualification Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must confess the Christian faith, demonstrate a commitment to a Lutheran liberal arts education and possess teaching excellence.
  • Candidates should have earned a doctorate or a master's degree in a relevant field
