Job Overview

Progress Partners is seeking to hire a Boston-based Investment Banking Analyst to help support its M&A and Capital Markets transactions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, experience with financial statements, financial modeling, and strong communication skills. Prior experience in executing M&A transactions in Technology verticals is highly preferred.


Analysts at Progress are given meaningful hands-on experience and deal responsibility. Progress fosters a collegial and entrepreneurial environment, and teamwork is essential to the firms success. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, creative, proactive, outgoing, and possess a strong background in finance and accounting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assist in the preparation of proposals, client presentations, and transaction materials.
  • Conduct company and industry research and develop expert industry knowledge.
  • Develop marketing materials, complex financial analyses and models, and ensure data integrity and accuracy of all deliverables.
  • Monitor campaigns, coordinate meetings, and prepare and actively participate in weekly updates.
  • Engage in due diligence processes, including data room management and coordination between all stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Establish and maintain the respect and trust of clients.
  • Recruit, supervise, and develop interns.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications

  • 6-12 months of experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, corporate development, or other similar experience (including co-ops and internships).
  • Bachelors degree with a strong academic record required; finance/accounting, business, economics majors preferred.
  • Knowledge of M&A and capital raising practices is essential.
  • Solid finance/accounting knowledge; ability to analyze and value businesses.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Team player mentality combined with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent analytical, creative, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strict attention to detail and advanced note taking abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize deliverables.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office suite skills; Expert in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Prior experience with accounting, financial or market data, databases, or analysis tools.
