Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Teller II is an experienced front-line representative of First Port City Bank, responsible for executing a broad range of teller transactions and delivering advanced customer support. Building on the core duties of a Teller I, this role handles more complex transactions, assists with account maintenance and problem resolution, and serves as a knowledgeable resource for less experienced staff. The Teller II helps ensure operational accuracy and compliance, promotes bank products and services to meet customer needs, and contributes to a positive, efficient branch environment. This position consistently models and promotes First Port City Bank’s Core Values: Positive, Professional, and Productive.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive deposits, process cashed checks and savings withdrawals, receive loan payments, issue cashier’s checks, prepare change orders and process other teller transactions. (Rolling coin at select branches)

· Follow Customer Identification Procedures (CIP) and Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures by obtaining valid documentation, i.e. current driver’s license, state identification, passport etc.. to ensure the transaction is being performed for the proper customer.

· Maintain and balance cash drawer in accordance with FPCB’s Teller Balancing Policy, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly to ensure financial integrity.

· Ensure compliance with all bank security protocols for cash handling, robbery response, securing funds, and branch opening/closing procedures, including night drop deposits, checklists, and end-of-day balancing.

· Adhere to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) policies and procedures, by monitoring all customer information available to you for suspicious activity and completing Currency Transaction Reports (CTR), when cash transactions exceed $10,000.

· Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all First Port City Bank products and services; deliver exceptional customer service in person, by phone, and via email, and proactively cross-sell relevant solutions.

· Provide prompt, courteous assistance to customers in person, by phone, or via email; address inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism.

· Foster strong customer relationships through exceptional service and proactive cross-selling of relevant banking solutions.

· Place customer check orders, issue and replace debit cards, including activation and troubleshooting.

· Assist customers with online and mobile banking enrollment, access, and basic support.

· Perform teller overrides within authorized limits and provide guidance on proper escalation procedures.

· Balance the vault and investigate discrepancies; maintain required controls and documentation.

· Balance and troubleshoot ATM/TCR devices; coordinate service or cash replenishment as needed.

· Support introductory new account opening procedures (e.g., documentation review, customer onboarding steps).

· Process foreign item collections in accordance with bank policy and regulatory requirements.

· Provide customers with access to safe deposit boxes as needed, ensuring secure and accurate handling.

· Perform other related duties as assigned to support efficient branch operations and excellent customer service.
