Job description

Job Title: Twin Engine Seaplane Pilot – FAA Part 121 Operations (Caribbean)
Location: Caribbean Base – St. Croix, USVI
Job Type: Full-Time

Seaborne Airlines is the USVI’s premier seaplane airline, providing scheduled passenger service between St. Croix and St. Thomas using De Havilland Twin Otter floatplanes under FAA Part 121 regulations. With decades of experience operating in tropical and marine environments, we pride ourselves on combining operational excellence with the unmatched beauty and culture of the Caribbean region.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified Twin Engine Seaplane Pilot to join our team. This role requires extensive multi-engine float experience and the ability to safely operate in tropical marine environments, including congested harbors and coastal areas. You’ll fly scheduled and charter operations to and from iconic Caribbean destinations, bringing safety, precision, and professionalism to every flight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate De Havilland DHC6-300 aircraft in compliance with FAA Part 121 regulations and company SOPs
  • Conduct water-based operations including takeoffs, landings, taxiing, docking, and mooring
  • Perform pre-flight planning and inspections, and post-flight documentation
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, ATC, ground support, and passengers
  • Adapt quickly to dynamic tropical weather patterns and variable sea conditions
  • Deliver safe, efficient, and exceptional service in a high-visibility passenger-facing role

Minimum Qualifications:

  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Written Test completed
  • FAA Commercial Multi-Engine Land & Sea rating
  • FAA First Class Medical Certificate
  • Prior experience in FAA Part 121 or 135 operations
  • Demonstrated proficiency in seaplane operations in coastal, island, or open water environments
  • U.S. citizenship or legal work authorization for operations in U.S. territories

Preferred Qualifications:

  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with Multi-Engine Land & Sea rating
  • PIC time in aircraft such as the De Havilland DHC-6 Twin Otter (on floats), Grumman G-73 Mallard, or similar


  • Experience operating in the Caribbean or other tropical maritime environments
  • Familiarity with marine and aviation weather systems common to the region
  • CRM and communication skills suited to a diverse, multicultural passenger base
