Autonomous Delivery Vehicle Operator

The company’s self-driving trucks offer safe, consistent deliveries while streamlining freight movement.. The company focuses on short-haul, B2B logistics for Fortune 500 companies with its Class 6 and 7 autonomous trucks and is the first U.S. company to operate fully driverless trucks at scale for commercial deliveries. The company's proprietary Level 4 autonomous technology is custom-built to transport freight safely and efficiently between pick-up and drop-off locations on the middle mile. About the role

Join Transdev in Phoenix, AZ and help support the future of autonomous trucking. In this role, you will operate and monitor autonomous box trucks while working alongside advanced vehicle technology.

We’re looking for experienced, safety-focused drivers who are comfortable with new technology and excited to be part of the next generation of freight transportation.

Transdev is proud to offer:

  • Starting rate of pay $27.00 per hour, with the ability to earn up to $31.00 per hour by completing advanced qualifications during our 3-week training program.
  • Quarterly bonus potential of 5% to 8% based on work performance
  • Annual Bonus of $3,000.00

  • PTO: minimum of one (1) week
  • Sick days: 5 days
  • Other standard benefits: 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental and vision, life insurance, short-term disability, and voluntary long-term disability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate 26–30 ft box trucks while supervising onboard autonomous driving systems
  • Work closely with engineering teams to test, evaluate, and refine our self-driving technology
  • Use onboard screens, diagnostic tools, and software to monitor system performance
  • Perform test runs, document vehicle behavior, and provide clear, actionable feedback
  • Stay highly alert and safety-focused, stepping in as needed while following DOT and company safety guidelines

What We’re Looking For

  • Valid CDL (Required)
  • 1+ years of experience driving 26–30 ft box trucks (Required)
  • Clean MVR (Required)
  • Comfortable with technology and able to learn new applications
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
  • Flexible overnight availability, 5 days per week, including weekends
  • Excellent judgment under pressure
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to write clear, simple reports
  • A natural problem-solver with a curious, “inventor” mindset

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years old
  • Must possess a valid CDL Class A or B, required for certain markets and R&D roles
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of professional driving experience with 26’+ box trucks or comparable commercial vehicles
  • Must consent to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check (U.S. roles) and meet company driving standards
  • Must consent to a criminal background check and meet eligibility requirements
  • Must consent to a drug screening (U.S. roles) before employment
  • Must provide accurate employment history, licensing information, and disclose any potential issues that may appear on pre-employment screenings
  • Must demonstrate proficiency with required technology and applications during the interview process
  • Must confirm availability for the assigned schedule and willingness to work flexible shifts
  • Must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the role, including operating commercial vehicles
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
