How much does a car salesman make on a $30,000 car?

A full-time auto dealership driver typically does not earn commissions on car sales; instead, their pay is usually a fixed salary or hourly wage. Car salespeople, however, often earn commissions based on the profit margin or a percentage of the sale price, which can vary widely but commonly range from 20% to 30% of the gross profit. For a $30,000 car, a salesperson's commission might be around $600 to $900 if based on a 2-3% commission rate, but this depends on the dealership's compensation structure.

What is the highest paid position at a car dealership?

At a car dealership, the highest paid positions are typically general managers or dealership owners, who oversee operations and profitability. Among staff roles, sales managers and finance directors often earn the highest salaries, especially with commissions and bonuses included. These roles require strong leadership, sales skills, and industry experience.

What car driving jobs pay the most?

Full-time auto dealership drivers typically earn competitive wages, with higher pay often available for those with specialized skills such as luxury vehicle handling or delivery of high-value cars. Positions involving long hours, night shifts, or driving high-end vehicles tend to offer higher compensation, especially when combined with bonuses or overtime pay.
