About the Role
Mason Security Protective Services LLC is seeking a professional, disciplined, and dependable Armed Security Officer to join our team in Miami, FL.
This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment, protecting people and property, monitoring assigned areas, and responding appropriately to security concerns and emergencies.
The ideal candidate is alert, professional, confident, and capable of exercising sound judgment in a fast-paced environment. We are seeking someone who understands that effective security requires both a strong presence and the ability to communicate professionally and de-escalate situations when appropriate.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain a visible and professional security presence at the assigned location.
  • Protect clients, personnel, visitors, property, and facilities.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, access points, and designated areas.
  • Conduct security patrols as directed.
  • Monitor activity and identify potential safety or security concerns.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, alarms, disturbances, and security incidents.
  • Apply appropriate de-escalation and conflict-resolution techniques when necessary.
  • Enforce established access control procedures, site rules, and post orders.
  • Maintain accurate daily activity logs and detailed incident reports.
  • Communicate security concerns promptly to the appropriate supervisor or management.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement, fire rescue, EMS, or other emergency services when necessary.
  • Follow all Mason Security policies, client procedures, post orders, and applicable laws.
  • Safely carry and maintain the assigned firearm in accordance with Florida law and company policy.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and level of conduct while representing Mason Security.
  • Perform other security-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Valid Florida Class G Armed Security License — Required

  • Valid Florida Class D Security License — Required

  • Prior law enforcement or military experience — Required

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong firearms proficiency and demonstrated knowledge of safe weapons handling.
  • Excellent observation, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and composed under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and respond appropriately to changing situations.
  • Must pass required background screening and drug screening.
  • Must have reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
