Long-Term Substitute: Social Studies
Position Overview Ursuline Academy is seeking a dedicated and engaging educator to
serve as a Long-Term Substitute in the Social Studies Department. This position begins
on August 1, 2026, and is expected to continue through October 29, 2026. The successful
candidate will be responsible for maintaining a rigorous and supportive learning
environment that aligns with our commitment to academic excellence and student
centered instruction.
Key Responsibilities
• Instructional Delivery: Teach a diverse course load including AP Psychology,
Foundations in History and Geography, and World History.
• Assessment & Grading: Provide timely and constructive feedback on student work
and maintain accurate records within the school's grading platform.
• Classroom Environment: Foster an inclusive classroom culture that encourages
intellectual curiosity and critical thinking.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Social Studies Department Lead to ensure
curricular alignment and a smooth transition for students.
Qualifications
• A Bachelor's degree in History, Psychology, or a related social science field
(Master's degree in a relevant content area or Education preferred).
• Valid teaching license or substitute certification in the State of Ohio.
• Experience teaching at the secondary level, with specific familiarity in AP
Psychology content preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple course preparations.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with faculty and engaging with
students.
