West Hartford Public Schools seeks to fill a position for a full-time School Counseling Secretary at Hall High School.
Requirements:
-Prior secretarial experience in a school setting.
-Serve as the first point of contact for students, parents, and visitors to the counseling office.
-Understanding of timeline management and urgency.
-Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
-Strong computer skills, including Google Workspace - Calendars, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc., and Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel.
-Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, self-starter, and solid telephone etiquette.
-Proficiency in scheduling appointments for students and clinicians, managing meetings on calendars, and coordinating department events.
-Ability to work with and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
-Ability to communicate positively and effectively with staff, students, parents, and/or visitors regarding school matters.
-Manage the flow of students through the school counseling office.
-Experience with PowerSchool, Naviance, and CT-SEDS.
