Full Time Animal Crew Leader

The Community Work and Service (CWS) Animal Crew Leaderโ€™s duties and responsibilities include leading the CWS Animal Crew and coordinating daily care for all animals on the farm year-round. Crew Leaders supportโ€ฏresidentsโ€™โ€ฏrecovery by building authentic, professional relationships and helping residentsโ€ฏrestore a sense of engagement, productivity,โ€ฏand contribution. The Crew Leadersโ€™ primary task is to ensure the fulfillment of CooperRiisโ€™ mission by assisting residents in their recovery process through purposeful work and meaningful involvement in the Farm community.


Location: Mill Spring, NC

Hours:

  • Full Time
  • 40 hours a week
  • Monday - Friday 8am -5pm

Pay: Starting at $18.00 per hour and increases based on experience

Responsibilities:

  • Has a thorough understanding of the Farm program and theโ€ฏ(7)โ€ฏseven-domainsโ€ฏenhancedโ€ฏmodel of recovery.
  • Leads the CWS Animal Crew. Provides leadership and guidance for all animal related matters. Organizes the daily tasks for the crew, with a variety of options to meet resident needs. Assists residents by demonstrating or educating them on how to properly perform the tasks.
  • Acquires general knowledge of the residentโ€™s recovery goals and helps each to address any barriers and build on their successes.โ€ฏ
  • Collaborates with members of residentsโ€™ recovery teamsโ€ฏwhen assistance or more support is needed for a resident.โ€ฏโ€ฏ
  • Attendsโ€ฏRecovery Planning meetingsโ€ฏand other meetings to support the residents.โ€ฏโ€ฏ
  • Documents relevant CWS information in the residentโ€™s electronic health record and/or communicated to the residentโ€™s team.โ€ฏ
  • Provides guidance and leadership toโ€ฏsupport staff, interns, and volunteers assigned to the animal barn.โ€ฏโ€ฏโ€ฏ


Qualifications:
  • At least 21 years or older to operation CooperRiis vehicles and equipment and to be covered under CooperRiis Insurance
  • Experience working on a farm .
  • Ability to work in various weather, be moving, lifting, and bending for extended periods of time, and lift up to 50 pounds consistently
  • Ability to operate farm machinery such as tractors, large mowers
