Job description

With nearly 100 lawyers and more than 30 offices throughout the Central and Southeastern United States, our primary goal is to achieve the most favorable outcome for our clients, who have the absolute right to receive the maximum compensation for their damages. 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Employee Relations Generalist (ERG) will work closely with both the Chief Human Resources Officer and Human Resources Regional Manager. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day HR functions of the ERG’s respective offices. In addition, this position requires a strong ability to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  • Conduct thorough and objective investigations into workplace complaints (e.g., harassment, discrimination, misconduct) and recommend appropriate resolutions.
  • Provide guidance and interpretation of company policies and procedures to employees and management, ensuring consistent application across the organization.
  • Assist managers in addressing performance concerns, including developing and administering Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) and corrective actions.
  • Conduct exit interviews to identify insights related to employee turnover.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of employee relations issues, investigations, outcomes, and reports for compliance and record-keeping purposes.
  • Assist with staff/attorney recruitment activities, including candidate sourcing, screening, and coordination of interviews.
  • Support employee training initiatives and performance evaluation processes.
  • Perform data entry of employee information, including but not limited to:
  • New hires
  • Employee changes
  • Any additional documentation required for employee records
  • Assist with Paid Time Off (PTO) tracking and reconciliation.
  • Coordinate and organize office events and activities.
  • Periodically travel to office locations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Full-time, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, M-F.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years of experience in Human Resources or 5 or more years or of HR experience in a law firm or other professional services firm.
  • Demonstrated human resources experience, strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills. 
  • Experience using a HRIS software.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. 
  • Exceptional attitude and customer service skills. 
  • Works well in a team environment 
  • Strong time management skills. 
  • Ability to multitask
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
