Job description

CTS Foods, a leader in food distribution in Quebec is expanding and is looking for a CLASS 5 Truck Driver to service the Quebec region. Come join us! This candidate must also be self-confident, extroverted, and determined.

Job Summary

  • The Class 5 License Delivery Driver is essential in ensuring that orders get shipped out on time, to the right location, and extend great customer service to our clients.

Job Tasks

  • Daily delivery of large volume perishable food product orders and maintaining a clean organized area.
  • Delivering products in a safe and timely fashion (delivery routes will vary from time to time) and maintaining a sense of urgency to all requests by other team members and clients.
  • Performing efficient loading practices i.e. check load accuracy, secure loads, and ensures products are on the truck etc.
  • Conducting pre-trip inspection and check load security.
  • Obtaining CODs and verifying and signatures on delivery.
  • Maintaining a clean delivery vehicle (interior, exterior, and delivery trolleys).
  • Performing daily pre/post shift safety inspections and advises the Supervisor of any concerns or service recommendations.
  • Refueling vehicle as required and maintain usage/mileage logs.
  • Picking up supplies as requested.
  • Adhering to established uniform requirements and maintains a professional image and handles all client interactions in a courteous, customer-oriented manner.
  • Providing support to our other food service areas as required.
  • Ensuring full compliance with Ministry of Transportation (MOT) Regulations.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • One year truck driving experience (i.e. straight truck); previous food service industry experience is a definite asset.
  • Valid and clean Class 5 license.
  • Experience with driving straight trucks.
  • Customer-focused attitude
  • Ability to make sound decisions independently and know when to reach out for assistance from your supervisor.
  • Well-organized and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Must practice patience and safety at all times.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 kg.

  • Maintenir un véhicule de livraison propre (intérieur, extérieur et chariots de livraison).
  • Effectuer des inspections de sécurité quotidiennes avant et après le quart de travail et informer le superviseur de toute préoccupation ou recommandation de service.
  • Ravitailler le véhicule selon les besoins et maintenir les journaux d'utilisation/kilométrage.
  • Ramasser des fournitures selon les demandes.
  • Adhérer aux exigences de l'uniforme établi, maintenir une image professionnelle et gérer toutes les interactions avec les clients de manière courtoise et orientée vers le client.
  • Fournir un soutien à nos autres secteurs de services alimentaires selon les besoins.
  • Assurer la conformité totale aux règlements du ministère des Transports (MTQ).
  • Effectuer d'autres tâches assignées.

Exigences:

  • Un an d'expérience en conduite de camion (ex. camion droit); une expérience antérieure dans l'industrie des services alimentaires est un atout certain.
  • Permis de classe 5 valide et propre.
  • Expérience de conduite de camions droits.
  • Attitude axée sur le client.
  • Capacité à prendre des décisions judicieuses de manière indépendante et à savoir quand demander de l'aide à son superviseur.
  • Bien organisé et capable de travailler avec un minimum de supervision.
  • Doit pratiquer la patience et la sécurité en tout temps.
  • Capacité à soulever jusqu'à 50 kg.
