Job Description:

JOB TITLE: DME/Check-In Receptionist

POSITION STATUS: Full Time

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports directly to the Chief Facilities Management officer

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

DME:

  • Home Health Referrals
  • DME orders through parachute
  • Ostomy supply orders
  • Trach supply orders
  • Pleur X Cath Orders
  • Urinary Cath Supply orders
  • PEG orders
  • Aerocare Medical Oxygen orders
  • TPN orders
  • Home IVF
  • Wig/Mastectomy Orders
  • Lymphedema Garments

Front Desk & Reception:

  • Warmly greet and assist visitors, patients, and employees upon arrival.
  • Manage check-ins and direct inquiries appropriately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, scheduling, document handling and other tasks assigned.

LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES:

GENERAL: Takes responsibility for meeting general requirements, code of conduct, and policies/procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook, as evidenced by the following which may be observed by physicians, management, staff, patients, visitors and co-workers:

Maintaining attendance/punctuality in accordance with system policy & procedure (scoring does not include time taken for FMLA)

Adhering to the dress code and maintaining a neat appearance

Wearing and displaying ID badge appropriately at all times while on duty

Maintaining an organized and clean work area

Assisting with maintaining a neat and clean facility (pick up papers, reports, clean up spills, etc.)

Maintaining confidentiality as outlined in practice policy & procedure

Limiting equipment/computer use to work-related functions

Willingly performs other duties as assigned

Completing tasks within designated time lines as directed by management

Following employee conduct expectations as outlined in the Employee Handbook

Addressing co-workers in a courteous and professional manner at all times

Communicating effectively and appropriately as may be observed by physicians, management, staff, patients, visitors and co-workers

Demonstrating sensitivity to patients and their family members

Maintaining self-control in times of organizational stress and/or patient crisis

Recognizing unsafe and/or unusual situations and calling them to the attention of management

CUSTOMER SERVICE: Demonstrating an understanding of excellent customer service standards as evidenced by the following which may be observed by physicians, management, staff, patients, visitors and co-workers:

Job Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a receptionist, guest services, or customer service role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling systems.
  • Professional appearance and positive demeanor.
  • Knowledge of UCBC physicians, service lines, and company structure (or willingness to learn).
  • Experience in healthcare or hospitality is a plus.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions of Job:

Requires sitting, standing, walking, some bending, stooping, and stretching to include lifting up to 25 pounds; Potential for exposure to communicable illness from contagious patients; Extensive computer work, including viewing computer screens for long periods of time.
