Responsibilities

Performs diagnostic and interventional procedures to include but not limited to: angiography, venography, myelography, nephro-ureteral, and gastrointestinal studies, and modality assisted drainage and biopsies. Completes all post processing functions. Performs related record keeping and patient care functions. Ensures the utilization of established protocols and techniques differentiating for adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population in the performance of diagnostic procedures and functions.

What you will do

  • Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all interventional radiology procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
  • Demonstrates competencies to perform all interventional radiology procedures.
  • Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
  • Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
  • Adhere to the Radiation Safety Policies and the principles of a viable dose reduction program.
  • Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
  • Assist with daily coordination interventional procedures in appropriate time sequences.
  • Acts as a mentor for students and junior technologists.
  • Ensures department meets all regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrates the ability to post-process advance imaging procedures by using applications such as Syngo Via.
  • Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.
Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program Required

Work Experience

  • 1-year of experience Required

Licenses and Certifications

  • (R) ARDMS or ARRT - Radiographer Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (R) Upon Hire Required and
  • (VI) or Cardio Vascular Imaging - Vascular Imaging Advance Certification by ARRT in Vascular-Interventional Radiographer (VI) Upon Hire Required or
  • CI - Cardiac Interventional Cardiac-Interventional Radiographer (CI) Upon Hire Required and
  • BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
