Job description

Join the Tilt team
At Tilt, we see a side of people that traditional lenders miss. Our mobile-first products and machine learning-powered credit models look beyond credit scores, using over 250 real-time financial signals to recognize real potential. With millions of customers worldwide, we're not just changing how people access financial products - we're creating a new credit system that backs the working, whatever they're working toward.
The Opportunity: Sr. Mobile Engineer, Tilt Labs
Tilt Labs is our product experimentation pod focused on building new capabilities and validating Tilt's next product bets. We operate as a small, high-ownership team that moves quickly from concept to live experiment, partnering closely cross-functionally to learn what actually drives engagement and retention.
Last quarter, we shipped our Agentic Financial Assistant - an LLM-powered product that helps users navigate their finances in natural language. Now we're expanding its capabilities and extending into adjacent product areas and new ways for users to get more value from Tilt beyond our core lending products. You'll build the products and surfaces that test our biggest bets.
Tilt is a remote-first company. We drive connectivity through regular company offsites. Travel for company offsites is expected at a minimum 2 times a year.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Own mobile features and experiments end-to-end: Build, ship, and iterate on product features that generate signal on what users actually want - from initial concept through measurement.
  • Build out new customer facing agentic experiences: Work on LLM-enabled features in our mobile product surface such as the AI-powered Financial Assistant chatbot, improving engagement, response quality, and re-engagement flows.
  • Navigate ambiguity: Work closely with PMs to shape early product ideas intentionally with judgment about what's right for the customer matters as much as your technical execution.
  • Drive decisions with data: Instrument experiments, analyze engagement patterns, and use quantitative signal to inform what gets built next - even when getting clean data is the hard part.
  • Collaborate across functions: Partner closely with PMs, designers, data science, and backend engineers to translate innovative ideas into new mobile experiences.
  • Shape the product roadmap: Your experiments directly determine which bets Tilt doubles down on. What you learn becomes the strategy.
Why You're a Great Fit
  • 5+ years of mobile engineering experience, iOS primary. Strong enough to negotiate technical tradeoffs and own quality without needing close oversight.
  • You've worked in a growth, product, or experimentation-heavy environment where shipping speed and learning velocity matter more than perfect specs
  • Product instinct that goes beyond the ticket. You've pushed back on a spec because you knew it wasn't right for the user. You can contribute to the product experience and curation process, not just execute against it.
  • Comfortable with intentional ambiguity. The problem space in Tilt Labs is intentionally loosely defined. You should find that energizing!
  • Cross-platform awareness is a plus. Android experience or full-stack comfort will matter as we expand the experience beyond iOS.

Don't meet every qualification? We care about potential over your past. If you're bringing ambition and drive to what we're building, we want to hear from you.
What you'll get at Tilt
  • Virtual-first teamwork: The Tilt team is collaborating across 14 countries, 12 time zones, and counting. You'll get started with a WFH office reimbursement.
  • Competitive pay: We're big on potential, and it's reflected in our competitive compensation packages and generous equity.
  • Complete support: Find flexible health plans at every premium level, and substantial subsidies that stand up to global standards.
  • Visibility is yours: You can count on direct exposure to our leadership team - we're a team where good ideas travel quickly.
  • Paid global onsites: Magic happens IRL: we gather twice yearly to reconnect over shared meals or kayaking adventures. (We've visited Vail, San Diego, and Mexico City, to name a few.)
  • Impact is recognized: Growth opportunities follow your contributions, not rigid promotion timelines.

The Tilt Way
We're looking for people who chase excellence and impact. Those who stand behind their work, celebrating the wins and learning from the missteps equally. We foster an environment where every voice is valued and mutual respect is non-negotiable - brilliant jerks need not apply. We're in this together, working to expand access to fair credit and prove that people are incredible. When you join us, it's not just another day at the [virtual] office, you're helping millions of hardworking people reach better financial futures.
You're pushing ahead in your career? We can get behind that. Join us in building the credit system that people deserve.
