Engr Quality Mgr Std Spec Compliance

Summary - Join Voith Hydro, a global leader in renewable energy solutions, and take responsibility for engineering quality excellence across all hydroelectric projects worldwide. As Global Engineering Quality Manager, you will ensure that engineering processes, designs, and deliverables meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and sustainability. This role combines strategic leadership with technical depth, driving quality from concept through execution for turbines, generators, and related systems.
Responsibilities
  • Implement global and define regional engineering quality standards, ensuring compliance with Voith Hydro requirements and international norms for an End to End requirement management of Hydro products.
  • Drive and support continuous improvement of standards and specifications based on engineering data analysis, including ITPs, ensuring alignment of design requirements with supply chain, manufacturing, inspection technology, and installation.
  • Drive, moderate and support standardization and modularization activities and support multifunctional work groups on module-specific improvement strategies.
  • Support solutions for project-specific quality specifications for special project needs.
  • Contribute to improvements of engineering design guidelines (e.g., related to D-FMEA tasks or for compliance with legal requirements/operational safety).
  • Review customers' specifications and legal/statutory requirements, compare with Voith Hydro standards, and ensure proper requirements management and compliance.
  • Act as PoA with engineering to declare conformity with legal requirements (e.g. with CE, EAC, UKCA, FCC & UL, NRTL, CCC, KC, PSE, etc.) in alignment with Global Engineering Quality
  • Serve as interface to authorities and certification bodies with engineering for operational safety.
  • Document declaration of conformity for operational safety in alignment with project quality.
  • Collaborate with project quality managers, manufacturing, and sourcing to ensure seamless integration of quality requirements across the value chain.
  • Train engineering teams on the application of engineering quality standards and quality tools and methodologies (e.g., ITP, standard specifications, SPC - statistical process control).
  • Collaborate with engineering to define and review DVP&R plans (design verification plan and report), ensuring alignment with functional safety, reliability targets and compliance of requirements.
  • Ensure through process audits & verifications in all relevant areas that quality standards are embedded in the processes.
  • Monitor engineering KPIs and compliance, reporting regularly to executive leadership.

Qualifications -
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering; certifications in Quality (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma) are a plus.
  • 7-10 years of experience in engineering or engineering quality roles, ideally in a regulated or project-driven environment.
  • Expertise in FMEA, DVP&R, DRBFM, ISO 9001, risk management, root cause analysis, design validation, and quality planning.
  • Strong skills in analytical thinking, facilitation, cross-functional collaboration, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
