As a Full Stack Software Engineer at Regard, you'll be involved in all stages of the product development and deployment lifecycle: idea generation, planning, design, prototyping, execution, deployment, and iteration of new and existing features. You'll collaborate closely with engineering, design, and product teams to bring new features and products to life.
Your primary objective will be to develop high-quality software solutions that meet user needs and align with the organization's business goals. This includes analyzing requirements, designing robust architectures, writing efficient code, and conducting thorough testing.
You'll be responsible for contributing to high-priority projects and continuous improvement initiatives. By delivering innovative and reliable software, you'll help drive the success of our organization and make a meaningful impact on the industry.

Our Tech Stack:

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with product and design team members to design medium to large projects balancing speed to market, user experience, business goals, and technical architecture quality
  • Operate independently in building new features and capabilities, with support from senior engineers
  • Maintain and improve the quality of the codebase and tooling in your area of responsibility by proactive fixes and improvements, and through identifying and proposing projects to improve the overall backend codebase
  • Participate in operational activities supporting including on-call, monitoring, and production support
  • Contribute as necessary across the stack (front end, infrastructure, AWS, etc)

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of professional experience with full stack software development in one or more of the following coding languages: Python, Typescript, Javascript or Go
  • Able to participate in on-call operational support for your areas of responsibility
  • Able to travel up to 4 weeks a year for company co-working and/or retreat weeks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Practical experience leveraging AI coding tools in day-to-day software development (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Codex)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with k8s, AWS services (serverless, etc), OpenAI services
  • Experience in a startup and/or high growth environments
  • Experience working on a mature, enterprise SaaS product
  • Experience working with health technology

Hybrid Work | Location | Work Authorization
  • For this role, Regard is currently only considering candidates who are authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship, and are within the New York City metro area
  • We expect our Engineers to be in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We also require more frequent in-office work during the onboarding period and team onsite weeks up to once per month
  • We will provide relocation assistance to anyone who does not already reside in the NYC metro area
  • For those who enjoy working from our Manhattan office on a more regular basis, we offer catered lunches and other fun perks
  • Additionally, hybrid employees have the flexibility to work from locations outside of their home office from up to 6 weeks per year
