Contractors are typically hired for a set duration or until a project is completed and may work with multiple clients. They are expected to have expertise in various programming languages, frameworks, and databases to build and maintain complete web applications. This role often provides flexibility in work arrangements but requires strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to different tech stacks.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a full stack software developer contract?

A Full Stack Software Developer on contract needs proficiency in both front-end and back-end technologies, such as JavaScript frameworks, server-side languages, and databases, along with a solid understanding of software development principles. Senior Full Stack Software Engineer

CVector - Industrial AI

Manhattan, NY โ€ข On-site

$132K - $150K/yr

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO

Re-posted 20 days ago

Job description

CVector's mission is to bring real time economic optimization and AI prediction to every energy and manufacturing plant.
Industrial facilities make decisions every minute that determine cost, reliability, and margin, but the signals that matter live in different worlds: live asset constraints and process reality on one side, feedstock prices, product prices, demand, and market dynamics on the other. We fuse those worlds into one decision layer that continuously forecasts what is coming, simulates what could happen, and optimizes what to do next, so plants can run closer to their true economic potential every day.
This position works from our New York City office four days per week. CVector has customers across the United States and operates real-world systems in demanding industrial environments.
Role Overview
As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and evolving CVector's core platform-including our web applications, back-end data pipelines, and industrial gateways. You will help deliver robust, intuitive user experiences centered around real-time data visualization and operational insight, deployed in demanding environments such as power generation facilities and chemical plants.
This role requires strong technical judgment, a bias toward shipping high-quality software, and a product-oriented mindset. You should be comfortable working across the stack, learning new technologies quickly, and taking ownership of complex problems in a fast-moving startup environment. You will collaborate closely with other engineers and will have opportunities to lead technical initiatives and influence architecture and product direction.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, you will:
  • Lead development of real-time data visualization platform to create beautiful data visualizations and integrate inspiring AI-driven insights
  • Design, implement, and deploy features and bug fixes across the full software stack, from front-end UI to back-end services and data stores
  • Collaborate with product and design to translate user needs into well-scoped, high-quality technical solutions
  • Ensure system reliability and maintainability through automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and help improve operational tooling and observability
  • Contribute to technical decision-making, architecture discussions, and code reviews
  • Mentor junior engineers and help raise the overall quality and velocity of the team
  • Occasionally travel to customer sites to gain firsthand understanding of real-world usage and constraints

Requirements
Our current technology stack includes Python, TypeScript, React, Supabase, MQTT, Figma, Arco Design, TigerData, PostgreSQL, and AWS, with development workflows managed through GitHub.
A strong candidate will bring:
  • A relevant engineering degree or equivalent professional experience demonstrating a solid foundation in computer science
  • 2+ years experience developing production software using Python and/or TypeScript
  • Experience building modern web applications with front-end frameworks (e.g., React) and back-end services
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, databases, and real-time or event-driven systems
  • Experience with data visualization, dashboards, or complex UI state is a strong plus
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote-first team
  • Comfort working in a startup environment with evolving requirements and high ownership
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally

Benefits
CVector provides team members with:
  • A competitive compensation package with meaningful equity upside
  • A robust selection of health, dental, and vision insurance options
  • Optional Health Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
  • Unlimited PTO with a three week minimum per year, plus additional sick days
  • Top of the line work equipment and IT setup, including high performance laptops and a modern developer stack
  • Unlimited access to the latest AI agent systems and productivity tools to help you move faster and build better
  • Visa support for candidates currently based in the US, including employer sponsored visa applications where applicable

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $132,000 to $150,000.
