Job description

About Traliant
Traliant is an award-winning technology company transforming compliance training from boring to brilliant. We empower organizations to build healthier, more inclusive workplaces through engaging, interactive online training on topics like workplace harassment, diversity and inclusion, and data privacy. As a fast-growing, remote-first company, we're looking for team members who thrive in dynamic environments and share our passion for excellence and innovation.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer who is ready to do more than ship features. You will work across our PHP/Laravel back end, Vue front end, and Node/TypeScript services inside a containerized, AWS-hosted platform - and you will do it with the autonomy of someone who owns outcomes, not just tickets. You will partner directly with product and UX to shape what gets built and why, bring a design-informed eye to the work, and actively push the team toward smarter, AI-augmented ways of building software.
This is a senior individual contributor role with real technical leadership expectations: you will influence architecture, raise the quality bar through code review and mentorship, and help the team evolve its practices as AI tooling matures. If you are energized by working close to the product, comfortable operating without a lot of hand-holding, and genuinely curious about what AI-native development unlocks - this role was written for you.
Key Responsibilities
  • Build end-to-end. Design, develop, and ship features across the full stack - PHP/Laravel APIs, Vue interfaces, Node/TypeScript services - with equal care for correctness, performance, and user experience.
  • Engage on architecture. Participate in technical design conversations with well-reasoned opinions. Propose solutions, articulate trade-offs, and push back constructively - without needing to be the one who owns the final call.
  • Work AI-first. Integrate LLM APIs and AI tooling into product features and development workflows. Bring practical experience with prompt engineering, agentic patterns, and AI harness frameworks to the team.
  • Partner with product and UX. Join discovery and planning conversations early. Push back on requirements when needed, propose better approaches, and bring enough design sensibility to collaborate meaningfully with designers - not just implement their specs.
  • Raise the bar. Conduct thorough, constructive code reviews. Mentor peers. Identify gaps in tooling, testing, and process and drive improvements without waiting to be asked.
  • Ship safely in the cloud. Work confidently with AWS services and containerized infrastructure (Docker, ECS/EKS or similar). Understand deployment pipelines, observability basics, and how infrastructure decisions affect the product.
  • Debug and improve what exists. Diagnose and resolve complex defects across front end and back end; spot and address performance, security, and scalability issues proactively.

Requirements
Required Skills and Experience
  • 5+ years of professional full stack web application development.
  • Genuine AI-native fluency - you regularly use AI coding tools, understand agentic workflow patterns, and actively apply AI to accelerate and improve how you build software.
  • Strong PHP experience - Laravel or similar modern framework. You can navigate a large existing codebase and improve it, not just write greenfield code.
  • Hands-on Vue.js experience for building reactive, component-driven front ends.
  • Node.js and TypeScript proficiency for building and maintaining back-end services and tooling.
  • AWS fluency - EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, or equivalent services in a production context.
  • Containerization experience with Docker; familiarity with orchestration (ECS, EKS, or similar).
  • Solid grasp of SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL and MongoDB).
  • Experience working directly with product and UX stakeholders - not just receiving tickets, but shaping requirements.
  • A track record of independent ownership: scoping your own work, managing ambiguity, and delivering without close supervision.

Nice to have:
  • Experience with prompt engineering frameworks or AI orchestration tools (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Vercel AI SDK, or similar).
  • An eye for visual design - you can look at a UI and know when something feels off, and say why.
  • Experience in a SaaS or e-learning product environment.
  • Background contributing to system design reviews or technical roadmap planning.
