What is a full stack Java developer?

A full stack Java developer is a web developer that uses the Java language in the development of the entire technology stack of a web-based application. The job duties of a full stack Java developer are to create both front-end components, such as user interfaces and back-end components, such as application code and databases. Job Description

Neevsys is currently seeking two Senior full-stack Java engineers who build modern, API-driven applications, contribute to open-source software, and use AI development harnesses to accelerate delivery — proficiencies that map directly to building AI business applications on our platform.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain full-stack Java applications (backend services and web front-ends) on a cloud-based middleware platform.
  • Integrate large language models, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and vector data stores into application features.
  • Use AI development harnesses and agentic coding tools to prototype and ship solutions faster.
  • Contribute high-quality, well-tested code; participate in code review and uphold engineering standards.
  • Work within a secure, government cloud environment and iterate as platform requirements evolve.
Required skills
  • Demonstrable open-source contributions — public repositories and merged pull requests to established projects.
  • Hands-on experience using AI / LLM development harnesses or agentic coding tools to build software.
  • API and service integration; solid SQL and data-handling skills.
  • Ability to learn an unfamiliar platform / middleware stack quickly.
  • US work authorization; clearance eligibility per contract environment.
Preferred
  • GenAI application experience: embeddings, RAG, and vector databases (pgvector, ChromaDB, Pinecone, or similar).
  • Cloud (AWS or Azure) and containerization (Docker / Kubernetes).
  • Prior federal or regulated-environment delivery.
