Job description


We are seeking a highly motivated Full Stack Developer to support the development, sustainment, and enhancement of mission-critical Command and Control (C2) applications within the Global Command and Control System – Maritime (GCCS-M) environment. In this role, you will support ongoing software development efforts focused on delivering new tactical capabilities, resolving critical defects, improving user experiences, and modernizing legacy applications through container integration initiatives. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across both front-end and back-end technologies, enjoys solving complex technical problems, and thrives in an Agile team environment. You will have the opportunity to contribute to existing fielded applications while helping advance the team’s transition toward modern cloud-native development and deployment practices. What You’ll Do: * Full-Stack Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack software applications supporting operational maritime users. * Feature Delivery: Develop product enhancements and implement new capabilities based on custom customer and stakeholder requirements. * Software Modernization: Support efforts to modernize legacy architectures through container integration, microservices transition, and DevSecOps automation. * Agile Collaboration: Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives. Collaborate with Product Owners, Systems Engineers, testers, and fellow developers. * Integration & API Development: Develop and consume robust RESTful APIs and integrate external enterprise and tactical services. * Code Quality & Review: Write clean, maintainable, secure, and reusable code following established software engineering standards. Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement. * Testing & Triage: Perform unit testing and support system integration testing. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex software defects identified across development, testing, and production environments. * Documentation: Document technical designs, API specifications, implementation details, and operational procedures to support system sustainment. Preferred Experience * Front-End: Modern JavaScript (React preferred), TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3. * Back-End: Java development, object-oriented design, RESTful APIs, and SQL databases. * Containers & Orchestration: Developing for containerized environments, building Docker images, and familiarity with Kubernetes or OpenShift. * DevSecOps: Git, CI/CD automation pipelines (Jenkins or GitLab CI), and secure coding practices. * DoD Systems: Experience supporting C4ISR systems, software sustainment, or legacy system modernization (GCCS-M or GCCS-J experience is a strong plus). * Problem Solver: Strong debugging skills with the ability to balance feature development and legacy defect resolution. * Collaborative: Adaptable, self-motivated, and comfortable operating in an Agile, distributed team environment. Required Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). * Active DoD Secret Clearance * Active CompTIA Security+ CE or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire Salary Range: $95,000 – $160,000 Requisition ID: A-GCCSM-SD-LS
