Description
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for six full time tenured/tenure track faculty positions at assistant, associate, or full professor level beginning fall of 2027. The successful applicant will teach both at the undergraduate and graduate level; engage in research activities; advise and mentor students; engage in both internal and external service activities within the general area; participate in all aspects of the department's activities; and serve the profession.
Consideration will be given to all areas of Electrical and Computer Engineering with an emphasis in the broad areas of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML), Robotics, Quantum, Chip Design & Manufacturing, and Bioimaging.
As a major department with an enrollment of about 1,700 undergraduate, 300 Ph.D. and 450 master's students pursuing degrees in electrical and computer engineering, our mission is fourfold: to create new knowledge and challenge young minds by participation in the process of discovery and invention, to educate electrical and computer engineers with a solid background of fundamentals, to prepare graduates for an exciting future and to serve the society through research, education and outreach activities. Texas A&M is investing for the future, with a $250 million Semiconductor Institute and $100 million in AI/ML computing infrastructure. ECE department has 7 National Academy Members and nearly 40 Professional Society Fellows. The department is in a strategic growth phase and expects to fill another 15 positions in the next few years. Qualifications
For appointments at Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor level, applicants must have a doctoral degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a closely related engineering or science discipline. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Although appointments at all three ranks are possible, preference will be given to candidates at the assistant professor level.
