At TELUS, the Finance AI & Automation team drives our transformation into an AI-powered organization. In the AI Lead role, you will identify opportunities and build scalable AI-driven solutions while fostering innovation.

You'll leverage technical expertise in GenAI and cloud architecture to build and maintain scalable, intelligent applications that deliver measurable business value. As a technical leader and mentor, you will be involved in full-stack development and partner with Finance leaders to turn AI opportunities into reality.

What you'll do

  • Architect and develop AI/ML full-stack solutions and proof-of-concepts using GenAI technologies and cloud platforms (GCP/Azure)

  • Design and develop data pipelines, robust APIs that serve as foundations powering AI automations and transformative solutions

  • Facilitate process mapping sessions with finance SMEs to capture decision rules and identify potential solutions

  • Drive successful transitions for AI/ML tools from ideation through pilot to scaled deployment across the enterprise

  • Drive accountability through metrics tracking and transparent stakeholder communication

  • Lead technical design discussions, conduct architecture reviews, and mentor junior developers to foster best practices

Qualifications

What you bring

  • Proven 6-8 years of experience in software development or data management, with at least 4 years of technical leadership or architecting complex solutions

  • Advanced data handling and ETL skills, including Cloud Platforms (GCP, Azure), SQL, Data Modeling, and Cloud Data stores

  • Full stack development skills: Frontend (React, modern JavaScript/TypeScript) and Backend (Python, RESTful APIs)

  • Strong background in Machine Learning frameworks, GenAI platforms, LLMs, and agentic AI

  • Exceptional communication skills to present technical concepts to finance stakeholders and business leaders in accessible terms

  • Experience facilitating requirement gathering, design sessions, and technical/architectural reviews

  • Degree in Technology, Computer Science, Finance, Business, or a related field


Great-to-haves

  • Cloud certifications (GCP Professional or Azure Solutions Architect)

  • Familiarity with TELUS data platforms, tools, and AI governance frameworks
