Full Stack Developer (Geospatial)

Location: On-SiteJob Description

Anakim Consulting Inc. is hiring a Full Stack Developer with mid-level experience to support a wide range of technologies to visualize geospatial data. This is an AWS enterprise cloud environment. Qualified candidates will be well-versed in software engineering methodologies and practices to interact with a highly qualified web development team. Required expertise includes demonstrated handsโ€‘on skills using PHP, Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, and other technologies. Prior experience working with geospatial tools for analysis, visualization, or data handling workflows is highly desired.

Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a collaborative team to develop and maintain websites and mapping applications for visualizing and distributing geospatial data.
  • Develop Python scripts that produce geospatial data products.
  • Support a diverse array of technologies including, but not limited to PHP, Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and XML.
  • Interact with a skilled web development team supporting applications development and integration for a federal customer.
Basic Qualifications
  • U.S. citizenship (no dual citizenship)
  • Ability to obtain U.S. Government security access (Public Trust level)
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science or related discipline
    • Equivalent years of related experience or training may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 3-5 years of recent and related development experience supporting full stack development in an enterprise technology environment including:
    • Experience with web design, administration, and database-driven applications
    • Experience with JavaScript frameworks (such as React, Jquery, OpenLayers and Leaflet), and strong proficiency with HTML/CSS
    • Experience with Python and PHP
    • Experience with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
    • Experience with security concepts
    • Experience with collaboration software
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to present technical information to technical and non-technical team members
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional or Specialty AWS Certification is a plus
  • Experience with Kubernetes and strong container knowledge is highly preferred
  • Experience with Git and/or other testing and configuration management tools is a plus
  • Prior handsโ€‘on development using geospatial tools (commercial or open source), including analysis, visualization, or data handling workflows is preferred
  • Understanding of OGC standards (WMS, WFS, WCS, WPS) and OGC APIs is a plus
  • Experience or strong understanding of projections, reference systems, and spatial data transformation is a plus
