Full Stack Developer
Location: Downers Grove, Illinois (Partial Remote)
Role Overview
Our organization is seeking a skilled Full Stack Developer to join a growing Digital Applications team. This is a strategic role designed to help build an internal development function and reduce long-term dependence on external vendors. The ideal candidate is a senior-level React/Node developer who can take ownership of customer-facing digital applications, work with vendor partners, and serve as a foundational technical resource for the organization's digital experiences, loyalty initiatives, and e-commerce growth.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain customer-facing web applications and digital platforms.
  • Develop scalable front-end solutions using React.js.
  • Build and support back-end APIs and services using Node.js.
  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA teams, and product stakeholders.
  • Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning and reviews.
  • Partner with third-party development partners on enhancements and strategic projects.
  • Become an internal technical expert for React/Node applications and take ownership of platform improvements.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, solution design, and development best practices.
  • Help establish a stronger internal engineering capability.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Full Stack Development experience.
  • Strong development experience with React.js (front-end) and Node.js (back-end).
  • Experience building and supporting customer-facing digital platforms and web applications.
  • Experience working with REST APIs and system integrations.
  • Solid understanding of modern software development practices and SDLC methodologies.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and independent operational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Experience developing e-commerce, retail, hospitality, loyalty, or customer engagement platforms.
  • Experience supporting mobile applications.
  • Familiarity with Shopify implementations and e-commerce integrations.
  • Experience collaborating with offshore, distributed, and third-party software development teams.
