Additionally, staying up-to-date with evolving technologies on both ends of the stack requires strong time management and continuous learning. Effective communication and adaptability are key to overcoming these challenges and delivering cohesive solutions.

What will a full stack developer do?

A full stack developer designs, develops, and maintains both the front-end and back-end components of web applications. Familiarity with frameworks like React or Angular, back-end environments like Node.js or Django, version control systems like Git, and possibly cloud platforms is typically required. Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills distinguish excellent developers, allowing them to work effectively in team environments and with stakeholders. In this role, you will function as a Full Stack Developer with a strong bias toward backend engineering, while also possessing the frontend expertise to build seamless user interfaces. You will be responsible for architecting, developing, and deploying high-performance, distributed, and containerized applications in a secure, cloud-native environment.

The ideal candidate is not just a coder but a technical leader who understands the intricacies of messaging systems, data grids, and DevSecOps pipelines, ensuring that applications are scalable, resilient, and compliant with government security standards.

  • DevSecOps & Automation: Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions (or other IRS-approved tools) to automate build, test, security scanning, and deployment processes.

  • API & Security: Develop and secure APIs (REST/SOAP) utilizing OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect. Ensure compliance with TLS cipher suites, secure coding standards, and automated dependency vulnerability management.

  • Monitoring & Observability: Implement logging and monitoring solutions using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and AppDynamics to ensure system health and performance.

  • Database Management: Write and optimize complex queries for relational databases including Oracle Exadata, PostgreSQL, and IBM Db2.

Minimum Technical Skillset Requirements

Mandatory Skills:

  • webMethods Suite: Integration Server, Universal Messaging, My webMethods Server.
