Job description

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions. Collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrate independent problem-solving skills and ability to develop solutions to complex analytical/data-driven problems. Fast learning, capable of solving complex problems and creating simple solutions. Proactively develop, implement, and further best practices across the group. Involved in production support and development activities for assigned applications and projects. Study, adhere to, and improve processes to increase application quality, development productivity, and effectiveness. Design, develop, test and support application modules. Work with business and technology teams to evaluate requirements and propose optimal technology solutions and delivery approaches. Motivated to work in a highly efficient agile team and have an attitude to be a good team player.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Any STEM-related field of study plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Java Full Stack Developer, Java Developer, IT Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Any STEM-related field of study plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Java Full Stack Developer, Java Developer, IT Consultant, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Designing, developing, reviewing, and maintaining robust and scalable Java web applications that follow a microservice and cloud native architecture; Utilizing Spring Boot framework, GraphQL, RESTful APIs, JavaScript, REACT, and Angular technologies for building applications; Customizing NICE Actimize Risk Case Manager vendor product for Investigation workflows; Developing fuzzy and exact match search indexes using Elasticsearch engine; Utilizing auto-deployment tools and continuous integration tools including Jenkins, Jules, and Cloud Foundry; Maintaining, monitoring, and assisting with the planning and review of the migration of existing applications that leverage MongoDB and Oracle Database; Implementing application monitoring tools including Splunk and AppDynamics to proactively handle application failures; Using development tools including Sonar, ESLint, and Snyk to assist with code quality and vulnerability-free code; Employing static code analysis tools including SonarQube to detect bugs, vulnerabilities, code smells, coverage gaps, and to integrate with CI/CD pipelines, Snyk to scan code and dependencies for vulnerabilities, and security scanners to ensure code quality and security compliance; Agile software development methodology and Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives; Collaborating with Product Owners, UX designers, and multiple Scrum teams, to refine, estimate, and plan user stories, followed by subsequent delivery using Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, and Figma; Anti-Money Laundering, Credit Card Fraud, and Financial Institution Regulatory Compliance.
